Meet the Owners
Corey Bourgoin
Corey graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in 2002 and went on to pursue his passion for culinary arts. In 2007, he graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Miami, followed by an externship at Walt Disney World. That same year, in December 2007, Corey and Alecia were married.
Corey built a strong career in food service leadership, serving as a Food Service Director with Aramark and later as Executive Chef for Sodexo at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. He also managed kitchen operations at Northern Maine Community College and went on to become the Nutritional Services Director at Northern Maine Medical Center.
After years of leading teams, managing operations, and working long hours in fast-paced kitchen environments, Corey set his sights on becoming his own boss. Wanting a new challenge and an opportunity to build something of his own, he took the leap into purchasing the sanitation business.
Alecia Bourgoin
Alecia graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in 2005 and went on to study Behavioral Science at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. In the Summer of 2007, she had the opportunity to study at The Juilliard School. This experience deepened her love for creativity and performance.
After returning home to marry Corey in December 2007, Alecia taught dance in the Eagle Lake area for a few years. When she became pregnant with their son, she decided to step into a new chapter and pursue a different professional path.
Alecia continued her education at Marshall University, earning her bachelor’s degree in 2019. She later completed her Master’s in Health Law from the University of Oklahoma in 2022.
Her professional background includes five years as a Referral Specialist at Fish River Rural Health, working as an Administrative Assistant in the Quality Department, serving as a Credentialing Specialist for Northern Light Health, and managing the Medical Office Building at Northern Maine Medical Center. Through these roles, she developed strengths in organization, communication, regulatory knowledge, and patient-centered service.
Alecia and Corey purchased Bourgoin Sanitation with the goal of building something of their own while creating a healthier work-life balance for their family.
